Boilerplate — short

ROCHE is a minimalist orbital-slingshot arcade game for web, iOS, and Android. You never steer — you press and hold to open a gravity well and slingshot a comet, while the same well threatens to shred it at the Roche limit. All graphics and sound are generated at runtime; zero assets ship.

Boilerplate — long

ROCHE is a minimalist arcade game built on a single inverted mechanic: your only means of control is also what kills you. Press and hold anywhere to open a singularity that pulls a drifting comet into orbit; feather the hold for a slingshot, or linger and the event horizon shreds the comet at the Roche limit — under your own finger. Feed cyan cores to grow the comet toward a crush state, shatter red anti-matter stars, or clear a sky by tracing a real constellation from physics you only influence. Rendered in pure-black "Luminescent Minimalism" with every element procedural and every note synthesized — the game ships zero image and zero audio assets. Free on web, iOS, and Android.

Why it's different

One verb — open a gravity well — and that well is what kills you. The antagonist is your own greed for pull. As far as we can tell, no other game is built on this inversion, where the sole means of control is also the failure state. Stacked on top: indirect "you are gravity" control, a growth-to-crush risk loop, and an alternate win condition — tracing a real constellation's figure — that emerges from physics you only influence.
